There are still 13 days before the Conference League finaltravel to Tirana, scene of the battle in between Rome and Feyenoord, becomes an odyssey for fans, also for those with tickets. In the case of Rome supporters, many airlines have canceled flights to the Albanian capital and the affected supporters are only entitled to a refund or change of dates.
To this were added the organizational problems on the ground experienced by the two clubs, who in the last three days have been in Tirana to conduct an inspection. Between the infrastructure, connections and reception areas there were significant shortcomings to host the final (on May 25) with not only 20,000 fans in the stadium but also an unspecified number of fans (at least to 50,000, which could cause public order problems) coming from the Netherlands and Italy without a ticket.
From May 16, control over the organization’s operations will officially be handed over to UEFA, which will try to resolve complex issues. Rome and Feyenoord will also hold a meeting.
Fans who have lost a flight are studying other ways to travel to Albania to watch the final, such as traveling the Adriatic Sea from Ancona to Durrë (Albanian port city, west of Tirana).
