Luka Modric has again been selected as the best football player in Croatia in the 2022/23 season. The 37-year-old Real Madrid player received the award from his federation for the seventh consecutive season. In total, he was named Croatia’s best player 11 times.
At the awards ceremony, the captain was delighted to lead Croatia to the bronze medal in the last World Cup and last June the checkered team reached the final of the Nations League, where they lost in a penalty shootout against Spain.
In addition, this season, the midfielder from Zadar won three titles with Real Madrid: the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
At 37, he will begin his twelfth season at Madrid in what could be his last campaign in white. His contract expires in June 2024.
