Elche (Alicante), August 12 (EFE).- Racing de Ferrol, a team recently promoted to Segunda, happily returned to the category this Saturday when they beat a faded Elche in their visit, rejoining the competition after the first three years
After a first half of Elche’s clear dominance, the Galician team was more dominant in the second, especially after Iker Losada’s goal, and created many chances to achieve a greater score against an opponent with no reaction capacity .
The team led by Sebastián Beccacece had an explosive performance, as it only took a few minutes to harass the Racing de Ferrol goal and generate several scoring opportunities.
Cantero saved a shot from Nico Fernández with his feet and moments later it was Lucas Boyé who came close to scoring with a shot inches from the angle.
Elche squeezed the ball from their rival, which they drowned in their own half, and gave the game a very high rhythm, although their continuous arrival on the wing did not find a finisher due to the good work of Galician defenders.
Racing de Ferrol appealed possession of the ball to deactivate Elche, who they threatened with a long shot from Señé.
Elche came back to assert themselves in the final section of the first act, with Tete Morente and Nico Fernández bringing down the wing, but again indecisively with the final pass.
The second half started with a surprise, as Racing de Ferrol managed to open the scoring with their first shot.
Iker Losada poked the Elche goal with a free-kick that was set near the post just beyond the reach of Edgar Badía.
The goal broke Elche, who were increasingly disorganized in their lines, and encouraged Racing de Ferrol, who came close to scoring a second through Chuca.
Beccacece moved the bench to wake up his team, but it was Racing de Ferrol who came close to scoring again with a shot from Sabin Merino that Badía cleared.
The advanced lines of Elche, but the Galician team, with more space in the counterattack, continued to accumulate a clear chance of goal, now in the boots of Señé and Manu Justo.
The local team continued to take the initiative in the last minutes, although not creating chances or danger against a very disciplined opponent who barely suffered to score the first three points of the course.
