Tenerife started with a hard-fought win over Oviedo

Date:

CD Tenerife kicked off their LaLiga Hypermotion journey with a hard-fought 1-0 win against a spirited Real Oviedo who more than made up for not returning empty-handed on their trip to the Tenerife capital.

A good or at least exciting start to the championship is always an additional incentive for any opponent in any championship, an attractive enough reason for both Tenerife and Oviedo to start the match with a clear objective to take the three points in dispute.

[+] Watch the match summary:

With this clear slogan from one and the other, a clash began without any speculation, with a quick attempt by Hugo (m.4), but his shot went outside Soriano’s goal , while the first serious shot from the insulars led him to Gallego’s goal. by scoring at will (m.18), after Leo’s rebound from Amo’s shot.

Late in the first half, a new chance for Tenerife could have meant their second goal, but Leo Román, on the goal line, cleared a poisonous shot from Luismi Cruz with his chest , while a header from Aitor Buñuel was deflected off the crossbar at close range into the Oviedo net.

With these two serious shocks for the Asturian team, the first period ended, to continue the game with more moderation on the part of the insular host, unlike their rival, who managed to equalize the contest (m.57), but the shot from Borja, after Abel’s pass, was deflected off the crossbar by a forward Soriano.

From this clear opportunity for Cervera’s team, the match entered a more even phase, with a controversial match in the middle frame but with little or no incident around the respective goals, hence the impossibility of the second movement on the Heliodorus scoreboard.
