Hovland joins Rahm and McIlroy for the Ryder Cup

the norwegian Victor Hovland became the third member of the European Team list for the Ryder Cup on Tuesday, joining the Spaniard Jon Rahm noisy Rory McIlory in Captain Luke Donald’s company.

Hovland, number 5 in the world golf ranking, has four victories on the PGA Tour and two on the DP World Tour. This will be his second consecutive participation in the Ryder Cup after his automatic qualification.

The 25-year-old went 0-3-2 in 2021, his only previous Ryder Cup appearance. He is the first player from Norway to represent Europe in the Ryder Cup when it is held at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin in 2021.

Hovland he has finished in the top 20 in each of golf’s four majors this season, including runner-up at the PGA Championship, and has not missed 18 PGA Tour starts this year.

The United States will defend the title lin Ryder Cup at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Guidonia, near Rome, an event to begin on September 29.
