When a 20-year-old resident of the municipality of Spittal an der Drau (Carinthia) saw two burglars through the peephole, he became the victim of an extremely brutal robbery. The burglars kicked in the door, threatened the 20-year-old with a gun and robbed him.
The two unknown perpetrators had forcibly gained access to the basement of an apartment building on Monday evening. A 20-year-old resident was awakened by the suspicious sound and saw two people in the stairwell through the peephole.
The burglars must have noticed. They brutally kicked in the door of the 20-year-old’s apartment. One of the two men pointed a gun he had with him at the victim, the other searched the premises and was able to steal an unknown amount of money.
Opera did not call the police
The perpetrators then fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim fled to his brother’s apartment in fear. It is currently unknown why the police were not immediately called. Only when another resident of the collective building reported a burglary in her basement on Monday did the serious robbery come to light during the investigation.
The shocked victim could only be found and interrogated in the town of Spittal an der Drau on the holiday. Further investigation is being carried out by the detective team of the Spittal an der Drau police station.
