The team Red Bull KTM Factory Racing announced this Saturday the renewal until 2026 of Brad Binder for your MotoGP project.
Binder, who recently turned 28, will remain in Red Bull KTM colors and ride the KTM RC16; continue a relationship that started in 2020.
“Many thanks to KTM and management for trusting me and allowing me to participate in this amazing program for several years.” declared the South African driver. “We are very close to what we want to achieve on the track, but I cannot say enough good things about the team and my crew. 2015 and the early KTM races seem like a long time ago. But time also flew by and we made some special memories. I know there’s more to come and I can’t wait to build on those stories. Thanks again,” he concluded.
In this way, the pilot could extend his relationship with the factory for more than a decade after joining the Red Bull KTM structure in 2015: the first of a five-year stint with the Red Bull KTM Ajo crew. Binder won the Moto3 crown in 2016 and went on to score 8 wins and 15 podiums during a three-season development phase in Moto2.
The #33 jumped to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing MotoGP team in 2020 and became the first athlete to progress through the full KTM GP Academy scheme since his formative days as a teenager in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. He took KTM’s first class win that same year in the Czech Republic and has so far been on the podium on seven other occasions, with 6th place as the best result in the championship.
His second victory in MotoGP, at the Red Bull Ring for the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix, is another milestone for KTM in MotoGP. Brad also took KTM’s first “Sprint” win in MotoGP with his performance in Argentina earlier this season.
Binder already has a contract in place for the 2024 MotoGP campaignbut now he is entering his thirties as a pilot and a key figure for the company’s Grand Prix.
