Six Athletic players trained in other youth academies and one in half

Athletic currently have a squad of 26 footballers after Morcillo left on loan at Amorebieta. Six of these were formed in other quarries and one, Yuri Berchiche, is half way. The winger was part of the cadet and the first youth team, but later he went to England to join the Tottenham reserve team.

From Marcos He came to Lezama from Alavés. He played for Bilbao Athletic in Segunda B and since then he spent his entire career with the first rojiblanco until he played 501 games.

Daniel Garcia He made a name for himself in the elite as an Eibar midfielder. His excellent performance at Ipurua earned him to sign for Athletic in the 2018-19 season. His thorn in the side, as he was known on occasions with the clarity he always displayed in front of the microphone, was playing in Europe. This season may not be either.

Ander Herrera He completes his second phase in Bilbao, but he trains in the lower categories of Zaragoza, the team of his loves where he wants to retire.

Alex Berenguer It was formed in the quarry of Tajonar. Athletic tried to sign him, but he went to Torino from the Italian Serie A, a team where he played for three seasons. His signing as a lion could materialize as early as the 2020-21 season.

Raul Garcia He was an institution in LaLiga after also leaving the Osasuna youth academy, playing in his first team, signing for Atlético, returning on loan to El Sadar and after five more seasons as a mattress player, signing as a lion in 2015 -16. He is celebrating his 20th season in the First Division, nine of them at Athletic.

The last non-youth player to join was Javier Marton. The striker was the leading scorer for Real B last season in the First Federation with twelve goals. It is possible that he will be loaned this summer market because of the number of players he has Valverde in the face of attack.
