It is a matter of time. Santi Bueno is now officially a Wolverhampton Wanderers player in the Premier League and has left the ranks of Girona as a player released from the coffers in a rojiblanca operation.
The English paid a sum of around 12 million euros for 80% of the player’s rights, which means the rojiblancos will get money out of the bag again if the Uruguayan sets course for another destination in the future .
The player has a contract until 2026 and a renewal clause of 25 million euros, but the Girona club, with the central defender, reached an agreement that could benefit both sides.
The club, in its official statement, thanked Santi for “the great work ethic and team spirit shown by Santi Bueno in all the seasons he wore the shirt” and wished him “the best in future challenges.”
With 12 million on the table, Santi has become the club’s most expensive sale, surpassing the 10 million Portu left in 2019 for a move to Real Sociedad.
