A record that was not enough to prevent the success of Tunisian Ahmed Jaziri, who won with a time of 8:14.93 minutes.

Chepkoech world record

In the same meeting, the Kenyan Beatrice Chepkoech set a new world record in the 2,000 meter steeplechase event, after winning this Sunday’s meeting in Zagreb, the last on the continental gold circuit, with a time of 5:47.42 minutes.

Chepkoech, currently the world runner-up in the 3,000 hurdles, reduced the previous universal record held by German Gesa Felicitas Krause by 5.38 seconds with a time of 5:52.80 from 2019.
