The Exor holding company, owner of Juventus, is considering putting the Serie A club up for sale, Italian newspaper ‘Il Giornale’ wrote on Monday, without citing sources. Exor, controlled by the Agnelli family and listed in the Netherlands, considers Juventus’ recent financial results “no longer sustainable” and is embarrassed by its legal problems, the newspaper said.
Exor believes that after the operations to clean the accounts of the most successful team in history in Italy, it will be able to be sold for at least 1.5 billion euros, according to the aforementioned media.
Juventus have been banned from UEFA competitions for this season after finishing seventh in Serie A last season due to a 10-point deduction for alleged incorrect accounting practices.
Speculation has arisen in the past that Exor could sell Juventus, and in May a company spokesman told Reuters that its commitment to the club “remains unchanged.”
The Exor holding company denied the rumor
The Exor holding company, which owns Juventus, has assured for its part that it has no plans to sell the club, a spokesman said on Monday, denying a report from the newspaper ‘Il Giornale’. The spokesman said in a statement that the report was “unfounded.”
