Sepp Kuss (Jumbo-Visma)the leader of the Vuelta with two days left in the round, will face the stage this Saturday in the Sierra de Madrid “with great confidence”, where he expects a difficult day where he will be well protected by his teammates on the team!
“On Saturday we have some climbs, but we have a very strong team and we will be able to face the day with a lot of confidence. It will be a very difficult day, everyone will be going for it all day,” he said in the finish line in Íscar.
The one who wears red for the last 10 days is happy about his mother’s presence at the Vuelta, and indicated that his father has followed the stage since USA. A presence that alleviates the added stress of being a leader.
“These days are more stressful. Usually, I go to the back of the group and calmly ride to the finish line. Now I have a lot to lose, but my teammates helped me a lot, we always lead and overcome the day,” he explained.
Optimistically, but without overconfidence, Kuss stressed that there will be no dawn in the third week.
“During the stage there was always a bit of annoying side wind, so the day was not very easy. There were no comfortable days in the third week of the Vuelta,” he concluded.
