Luis Henrique’s PSG is the first leader of the group of death in the Champions League after defeating Borussia Dortmund at the Parc des Princes (2-0) thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappé, from a penalty, and Achraf Hakimi in the second half. Previously, Milan and Newcastle opened the league with a goalless draw (0-0).
After a goalless first half in which he lacked success at the end, a penalty was converted by Kylian Mbappé by the hand of Niklas Süle He opened the way to victory for PSG at the start of the second half. Then the great purpose of Achraf, behind a wall with Vitinha, decided the fight.
Dortmund tackled it with a very defensive approach, abandoning their usual offensive game and just stretching the score against them. There is always the question of what would happen if they were chosen Edin Terzic in the same manner as the Bundesliga.
Terzic approached the game defensively and chose a 3-5-2 formation with three centre-backs and Marius Wolf and Julian Ryerson in the wings to try to prevent the internments of Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembéléwhistled in the German fans’ warm-up for his departure from the club in 2017 to join FC Barcelona.
Fluid attack but no finish from PSG
Luis Enrique chose a very young midfield built by Zaïre-Emery, Manuel Ugarte and Vitinha who moved the ball steadily and quickly in the first half but PSG lacked a goal, the victory by definition as their shots went past the three posts.
Vitinha had the best chance in the 18th minute with a shot placed that knocked off the post. Achraf Hakimi and Dembélé combined well on the right but Dortmund’s defense was too solid to stop Mbappé on the left despite the fact that PSG didn’t let their rival out with high pressure.
One hand changes everything
After the break, a penalty changed everything. Dembélé centered and auction of Mbappé hit Süle’s arm. VAR confirmed the penalty and Kylian converted it (49′).

Dortmund tried to stretch but conceded the second goal after a big wall on a piece of ground in between Achraf and Vitinha which culminated in the side with a good cut to Mats Hummels before define quality externally new Gregor Kobel (58′).
Terzic is changing now with 2-0
At 2-0, Terzic decided to make changes. The big guy Niclas Füllkrug he was given more weight in the attack and the youngsters Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, just jump on the field, sent a shot in the post (78′).
In the end, the German’s goal did not come and Mbappé, now less successful than usual, increased his score despite trying in every way, as in a Vaseline after Kobel’s departure came out which is close to the post, there is already plenty of space.
