André Onana once again starred in worse. After making a glaring mistake last weekend against Brighton, the Manchester United goalkeeper repeated his error in Bayern Munich’s opening goal by failing to save a simple ball.
A low shot by Leroy Sané ended up in the back of the net after Onana trusted his save, giving Bayern the first goal of the match.
“I made a mistake and this is the key. The team fell because of that. I have to learn from this, be strong and move forward,” Onana said, adding that “it’s not an easy situation but I’m very happy for the team’s recovery.”
Erik Ten Hag also spoke along the same lines yesterday. “I was disappointed because we must continue with our head in the game. When you score three goals against Bayern you have to get at least one point. We are in a time where many things are against us, but we have to create our own luck. When we don’t follow the principles of our game, we score goals,” the United coach concluded on TNT Sports.
