The International Cycling Union (UCI) made official the merger of first Challenge Vuelta Mallorca for women on the test calendar for 2024, as announced in a statement by Unisport Consulting, the company organizing the event.
The dates confirmed by the UCI for the celebration of the Women’s Challenge are the days January 20, 21 and 22 of next year.
Two days later, on Wednesday the 24th, the men’s Challenge begins, which runs until Sunday, January 28, as the starting point of a new cycling season for men and women in Europe.
The format requested by Unisport Consulting for the Women’s Challenge is the same as the men’s event: a competition with three different one-day races, like the classics.
After the women’s competition, a rest day is planned as a prelude to the Garden Hotels Luxcom Challenge Ciclista a Mallorca, which will celebrate its 33rd edition from January 24 to 28, with five races to be held.
This situation “will allow teams with female and male structures to be able to move both teams at the same time to compete in Mallorca or even do it in advance to carry out training concentrations before the start of the season, ” added the note issued by the organizers of Challenge Mallorca for women.
