These are the salaries offered by the new Saudi Arabian Women’s League

Date:

Women’s football in Saudi Arabia is making great strides. The arrival of the new professional League this season has led to a search for footballers who are offered salaries that are insignificant.

So, clubs offer a salary between 1,000 and 5,000 euros per month, tax-free and with a house, to footballers who have played in the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand with their countries. Through the job portal ‘FootballJobs’, This job is offered to play in the First or Second Division of the Saudi Arabian Women’s League, better known as the official Saudi Women’s Premier League.

In this way, the League in this country wants to position itself among the best in the world. It is the case that the salaries, compared to the Spanish League, are higher, considering that the minimum salary in the F League is established at 21,000 euros per year, although it can increase to 23,000 euros depending on the growth of commercial income of the league. In the case of big teams like Barça or Real Madrid, the salary is higher but in other lower clubs the difference is very bad.

From Mundo Deportivo we have already reported the arrival of the former Barça player and former Eibar coach, the Catalan Ana Junent, in Saudi Arabia, after signing for FC Al-Riyadha team that wants to be the benchmark in this new professional League.

The same approach is followed as in men’s football, in a country where women’s rights are advancing: “I want to participate in this growth,” Junyent pointed out.

The implementation of the league is part of an overall strategy for women’s football in the kingdom, which also includes the development of coaches, referees and players and the creation of the national women’s team, with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the World Cup. FIFA Women’s.

“I hope that women’s football will advance in Saudi Arabia in general and that women can play football abroad, like in men’s teams,” said Seba Rabea Tawfiq, a player for the semi- finalist Jeddah Eagles.

“God willing, we will progress as players and represent our country like women from other countries do. Then football will become as normal for girls as it is for boys.”

Al-Mamlaka, from Al Khobar, in the Eastern Province, were crowned champions when they defeated Challenge at King Abdullah Sports City, while Al-Yamanah beat Jeddah Sports to third place. The league began in November and features 16 teams, divided by region, into three groups. Eight reached the knockout stage, which was held this month in Jeddah.
