The referees of VAR failed by disallowing the Colombian goal, after it was disallowed for a non-existent offside, in what was recognized as a “human error”, after the referee in charge of VAR said “full check” without realizing that the goal was not allowed on the field.
“They didn’t do it on purpose and we shouldn’t forget that. It was a mistake, an obvious mistake, but I think there should be solutions. I think the match should be replayed, although it probably won’t happen,” he said. Klopp this Wednesday in a press conference.
The Premier League and the PGMOLthe league’s referee association, on Tuesday released audio of what happened in the VAR room during the disallowed goal against Diaz.
“I didn’t change the audio because I wasn’t really interested in why it happened. I saw the result, I saw the goal and I saw that it didn’t count,” he added. Kloppwho don’t want to blame the referees.
“I’m not mad at them. We shouldn’t be going after them. They made a mistake and I’m sure they felt terrible about it,” he said.
