Caverzaschi won the tournament after defeating the Brazilian in the round of 16 Jorcelino Ferreira (6-0 and 6-0), in the quarterfinals against the Moroccan Himam said (6-3 and 6-0), in the semifinals against the host as well Lhaj Boukartacha (6-2 and 6-1) and in the final in French Guilhem Laget (6-4 and 7-5).

“We came back after almost a year and a half due to injury and we did it winning! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my team, especially to my sponsors, who have supported me in such a difficult time for me. We will go for more. This is just the beginning,” said Caverzaschi, on social networks, after winning the tournament.

The 30-year-old Spanish tennis player is aiming to compete in his fourth Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
