Maguire’s monumental ‘rajada’: “I’m not going to stay here to play once a month”

Date:

Harry Maguire (30) has many counts of packing his bags as soon as possible to leave the Manchester United. Erik Ten Hag is not counting on him and the English international is ready to change the scene come January to get all the minutes away from Old Trafford.

Maguire, who lost the team captaincy in the summer, is clear that if he doesn’t play he could lose his chance to qualify for Euro 2024. “I’m not going to sit here for the rest of my life and play once a month. If this is going forward, I’m sure the club and I will sit down and talk things through,” Maguire said in the build-up to England’s double-header against Australia on Friday and Italy on Tuesday. “It is not my decision whether I will start the next game for United or not. In a couple of weeks, when I come back, I will know.”

The center back is sure of his abilities: “I trust my ability and it’s been difficult. I want to play and feel that I’m important to the team. So far I haven’t played as much as I want, that’s the thing .” “My record with this coach speaks for itself. My winning percentage is high when I play. If you look at my last 15 or 20 starts at the club and national team level, I am very happy with my performances,” he adds.
