Successful strike by Carinthian researchers against an enterprising drug gang! A suspected quartet is said to have sold all kinds of drugs six days a week in an apartment in Klagenfurt. The customers were queuing.
The suspects had been on the trail for months – now the handcuffs clicked on two Nigerians (29 and 55 years old), an Afghan (28) and a 56-year-old Romanian woman in Klagenfurt. A suspected customer of the suspected drug gang was threatened with a firearm.
And so the police took advantage of the “opportunity” – several police patrols, the Cobra task force and the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG) were immediately deployed. The special forces eventually stormed the apartment, overpowered the four suspects and handcuffed them.
7,000 euros in suspected drug money
Access that has more than yielded the investigation: in addition to 7,000 euros in suspected drug money, investigators seized no less than 77 grams of cannabis, about 500 grams of cocaine, 27 grams of heroin and 1.5 kilos of adulterants during their official actions. Street value of the drugs found: more than 77,000 euros.
As the investigation ultimately revealed, the apartment was actually used as a drug store. The four suspected salespeople had a 36-hour working week. From 6 p.m. to midnight, customers could knock on the door and get their medicine. The suspected dealers only went ‘blue’ on Monday.
The four suspects (they did not confess) were taken into custody and transferred to Klagenfurt prison. Further investigation into possible lenders is still ongoing.
