According to witnesses, a dispute could be the reason for the bloody act in Vienna-Favorit. As reported Monday evening, a young man was shot several times in a public park.
The police were alerted around 9:30 PM and left with a large contingent to the location on Raxstrasse. The 26-year-old victim was hit in the thigh, arm and buttocks. Several cartridge cases were also secured. However, there is no trace of the shooter.
“The stranger is said to have stood there and shot the 26-year-old with a handgun,” said police spokeswoman Barbara Gass. Witnesses said he ran away.
Details still unclear
It is not yet clear what the fight was about. There were several people in the park at the time of the incident. Gass has not confirmed that multiple people were involved in the altercation.
