Novak Djokovic has expressed his solidarity with Marco Trungelliti after he was ‘bad’ to Nadal and Federer

Date:

Criticism of the Argentine tennis player was made public recently Marco Trungelliti accused Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer of not using their power on the circuit to try to improve the economic situation that all players who are not among the elite of the world’s best suffer. On the other hand, the Argentine acknowledged Djokovic’s positive intervention in favor of restructuring the system of financial rewards in tennis. Trugelliti insisted: “Federer and Nadal are complicit in how bad the system is in tennis; Djokovic, no“.

Let’s remember that Marco Trugelliti was the one who denounced the betting mafia and match-fixing in 2015. at the lowest level of the circuit. But his denunciation, far from improving the situation, made him a pariah, his career was severely affected and he was even threatened with death, which is why he had to leave Argentina and now lives in Andorra.

In a recent interview with Argentine media Infobae, Trungelliti asked about the effects of his complaint and if the circuit’s corruption problem has improved somewhat, answering: “(Rebufa)… I don’t know, even in terms of arrangements .” of parties… It’s hard to speak without data, I still think things remain similar…” (…) — My feeling? Which is pretty similar. They will take care a little, some are attached, some are not, but the system is still broken, therefore it will be very difficult for the object to finish. Until you improve that, until you improve the basic conditions, it’s very difficult to eliminate all that. You have to pay for food, you have to pay strings, every day we start -100 or -120…”

A few weeks ago, the statement of Djokovic, who currently heads the PTPA, an association that fights to improve and protect the rights of players, caused a stir when he clearly stated that the poverty situation of most professionals that player does not remain: “It was a failure for tennis“.

The Serbian recalled that he was “in place of all tennis players with serious financial problems. I understand their struggle, I know the hardships they have to pay for travel, coaches, physiotherapists. If you don’t have the support of a strong federation you will have big problems.” To conclude with a clear position on the problem: “I come from Serbia and I don’t have anything like that. Now that I have influence and power, I want to use it to improve conditions. We often talk about what tennis players who participate in the US Open earn, but not about how many people can earn from tennis; male, female, double player…”.

Well, it was learned through information published in the Serbian media “Sportal”. Djokovic recently spoke with Marco Trungelliti telling the Argentine that he was unaware of the illnesses suffered in recent years.who did not know the situation but now sympathized with him very much: “”Marco Trungelliti did not deserve that treatment, he showed courage and bravery to protect the integrity of the sport. (…) I really appreciate it when someone has that attitude because it’s generally a minority. I am glad that he is back in his country and if he needs any kind of help and I told him that I am always there as I am for all of them, especially the boys and girls who go through a very difficult path to continue in playing professional sports and making a living from it to a certain extent.”

The debate about the economic conditions of tennis players, the circuit’s financing problems, the corruption of the system, is still open and more and more voices are taking a position on this matter.
