Casemiro will miss Manchester United’s Premier League match against bottom team Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday after being injured during the matches played by the Brazilian team.
United reported today in a statement that Casemiro was not present in the morning training only for other international teams to return from their national teams.
“Casemiro remains in Brazil, on the advice of the club, to recover as quickly as possible from a minor problem he suffered while playing for his country,” United’s statement said.
Casemiro is substituted on October 12 in the 79th minute of Brazil-Venezuela (1-1) after receiving a blow to his ankle, but on Tuesday he played throughout Uruguay-Brazil (2-0). Both matches correspond to the third and fourth day of the South American qualifying group for the 2026 World Cup.
Will be back next week
Casemiro is expected return to the Carrington facility early next week to continue practicing taking advantage of the fact that on Tuesday United-FC Copenhagen will not play due to suspension of the Champions League after being sent off in the previous matchday against Galatasaray.
The match against Sheffield United This is the first time Casemiro will miss this season in the Premier League after being a starter in eight games played so far.
