The Crushers team, led by Bryson DeChambeau, won the LIV Miami golf event this Sunday, the tournament that closed the millionaire circuit’s season was sponsored by the government of Saudi Arabia and distributed a prize of 50 million dollars.
The Crushers, consisting of DeChambeau, Anirban Lahiri, Paul Casey and Charles Howellsnatched the crown from Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces, the champions of the inaugural edition of this tournament, held in 2022.
The winning team pocketed a total prize of $14 million.
The third day of this tournament was played using the ‘Stroke Play’ formatwhere each player competes against all others by comparing round results.
The Crushers won with a combined score of -11, led by Lahiri who scored -7DeChambeau finished with a -5 while Howell made par and Casey finished with one over par.
The second classified is Range Coats, with a total of -9. Bubba Watson scored -5, Thomas Pieters and Talor Gooch -2, while Harold Varner made the pair.
The Torque of Chileans Joaquín Niemann and Mito Pereira, Colombian Sebastián Muñoz and Spaniard David Puig finished in third place, with a total of -6.
Niemann bested his team by finishing his round with six under par, and Puig managed a -1. Muñoz, who made par, and Pereira, who finished one over par, had more trouble.
Fourth are the defending champions, led by Dustin Johnsonchampion of the 2016 US Open and the 2020 Augusta Masters.
They signed the pair on Sunday, with Peter Uihlein as the best player (-3) and Johnson in big trouble, with three over par. Both Patrick Reed and Pat Pérez signed the pair.
