Diego Capel has announced his retirement from football

Diego Capel announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 35, on the 19th day of his debut in the First Division with Sevilla, whose youth team he coached and where he won two Copas del Rey, two UEFA Cups, one Spanish Super Cup. and a European Super Cup.

“On a day like today I made my debut in the first division at the age of 16 and almost two decades later I ended one of the best periods of my life that exceeded all my expectations and the dreams of a child from in Albox,” he wrote. Capel in a text circulated through his personal account on the social network Twitter.

“I want to thank my family and everyone who has been with me in every experience I’ve had. First of all, the team of my life, Sevilla FC, for giving me the opportunity to develop as a player and person and teaching me what what we all want: to win titles,” he continued.
