Udinese still didn’t win and fired his coach

Date:

Udinese fired the Italian coach on Tuesday Andrea Sottil after the beginning of the campaign in which the northern team did not know the victory after ten days.

“Udinese Calcio announces that it has relieved Andrea Sottil of his duties as first team coach. Our most sincere thanks to the coach for the professionalism and commitment he has always shown and for the great times we have had together within a year and a half in that led the team,” announced the club.

Udinese, missing their star, Spaniard Gerard Deulofeu, recovering from a knee injuryhave won just five games in Serie A throughout the current calendar year, including two against Sampdoria and one against Cremonese, both relegated to Serie B. The other two victories were against Milan and Empoli.

Sottil left the team after a year and a half where his best moment was the beginning of last season, when, after a tremendous start, he was placed in the top four positions in the first ten days of the championship.

The coach left with the team in relegation with 6 points from 6 draws after Monday’s 1-1 draw at home against Lecce.

The return of Gabrielle Cioffi on the Udinese bench is the strongest option to replace Sottil.
