The shocking L’Equipe cover everyone is talking about: “Disgust and shame”

L’Equipe is trending on social media after depicting its newspaper on Monday with a shocking cover featuring the shameful events that took place on Sunday night before Olympique de Marseille-Olympique de Lyon.

They used the photo of Fabio Grosso and his face was completely bloodied after being hit by a glass bottle in an attack by the Marseille ultras on the Lyon coach that also left his second Raffaele Longo with injuries, which hit the his eye, while some players were also affected by exploding glass.

“Disgust and shame” was the headline on the front page of L’Equipe, explaining that “Fabio Grosso was injured in the face yesterday when the OL coach was attacked and had to recover at the Vélodrom stadium. The attack caused the match to be postponed and plunged French football into new turmoil”.

In the end, and thankfully, it was unanimously decided that the match between both teams should be suspended due to everything that happened.
