The pairings for the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup, the English League Cup, are now known, after the eliminations of two of the favourites, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal (the one he left David Moyes’ West Ham with 3-1) and the Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United (eliminated from the tournament after losing, 0-3, by Eddie Howe’s Newcastle).
Coincidentally there are only two ‘Big Six’ (the big six of English football) in said quarter-finals: Liverpool and Chelsea. Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United (who are defending champions) and Arsenal are out of the competition.
In quarters, the Liverpool (who won the League Cup 9 times) will face West Ham. He Chelseain Newcastlein another exciting rivalry. Everton and Fulham will star in another one of the qualifiers and, in the clash of revelations, Port Vale (3rd) against Middlesbrough (2nd).
