Spanish GP start: Not a good start for Sainz, Hamilton grabbed Magnussen

Carlos Sainz walked away from victory in the Spanish GP in the first meters. The Spanish driver did not start well, remaining somewhat stuck, and this caused him to quit dreaming of attacking Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc from third place, to occupying fifth position, which greatly complicating his options as Charles started well and defended his first position with Verstappen (2nd).

Carlos was overtaken by Russell and Pérez in the first meters, and Lewis Hamilton would have overtaken him. Carlos defended well outside of Turn 3 against Lewis and combined his position before setting the drama for Hamilton. The Briton met an overly optimistic Magnussen outside and Dane grabbed the Englishman.

This caused a bit of injury to Lewis, who had to pit, whose career was already in the trash for him. For this reason, Hamilton was asked by radio to better “save the machine” and not exhaust it in a withdrawal, something the group didn’t like.

For his part, Fernando Alonso had a good start from last position after switching engines and the Spanish driver was able to pass up to 3 drivers at the start, 5 to lap 2, finishing 15th in two laps. On lap 6 he overtook Zhou (14th) and pinned Vettel on 13th.
