The Regional Federation launches a program of gyms to promote women’s football
The Football Association has taken the next step in the promotion and integration of women in the sports field and has started the establishment of women’s football gyms in several municipalities of the region in order to expand their participation in the sports field. These schools are run by qualified technicians from the FFRM and will serve to accommodate players who do not participate in the various federated competitions and who wish to discover an interest in football. In fact, it is already a reality, and the city of Jumilla was the scene of this first experience, which was very well received by the presence of some four hundred girls gathered on the Antonio Ibáñez field. The activity in Jumilla was attended by parents and coaching staff of the Jumilla Training School, who grouped the girls by age to practice various games and exercises related to football.
This project, called ‘For Fun’, is an initiative of the Women’s Football Commission whose activity is aimed at girls aged 5 to 12, so that they can discover, in addition to indoor and beach football, the women’s sport offered by the Football Association. The Chair of the Women’s Football Committee, Estíbaliz Amante, stated that “women’s sport has been on the rise for a number of seasons and that these types of events only mark a very positive horizon in the medium term.” For his part, Raúl Ruipérez, Director of Social and Corporate Responsibility of the Federation, assures that “one of the main objectives is the promotion of women’s sports and the equality of boys and girls”.
‘For Fun’ will cover almost the entire Murcian geography and after the event in Jumilla it will also be held in Los Dolores de Cartagena, specifically on June 1 in the Salesianos School, at 6:30 pm, and later on the 11 in the Municipal area of Archena, next to Mazarrón, Molina, Águilas and Lorca, in days to be determined.
