The Italian Mattia Pasini, 36, will compete with the Aspar Moto2 team as a guest rider in the Italian Grand Prix held this weekend at the Mugello circuit.
Pasini will train with Spanish Albert Arenas and British Jake Dixon on the Mugello circuit, where the eighth round of the season will be held, but this is not the first time the Italian driver has competed with the Aspar team, as he already did so in the 2006 season and, later, in 2019, to replace, certainly, Jake. Dixon.
The Italian rider added two wins to the team and a total of six podiums in 2006, the year in which he accumulated the most points in the World Championship (192) and in which he equaled his best classification (fourth), in a year in which he achieved victory at the Italian Grand Prix, at Mugello, the circuit on which he had won the most times (3).
“I am excited to compete again in a Moto2 race, to do so with the team of Jorge Martínez “Aspar” and with Gino Borsoi, whom I have long known, and beyond, in my home race“, Pasini explained in the team’s press release.” Mugello is a great place to do it well “, Pasini said.
