Three players from the Czech Republic have been left out for disciplinary reasons from the squad for tomorrow’s decider against Moldova after being surprised at a nightclub less than 48 hours before the match began.
The players in question are the defenders Vladimir Coufal (West Ham), Jakub Brabec (Aris Thessaloniki) and striker Jan Kuchta (Sparta Prague), that they “fundamentally violated the internal regulations on Saturday night,” as the Czech team reported on their X account (formerly Twitter). “Effective immediately, they have left the national team camp,” the statement added.
The newspaper DNES states on its website that the three players were photographed in a nightclub in the city of Olomouc, where the Czech Republic, after drawing on Friday in Warsaw against Poland (1-1), face Moldova on Monday with an obligation to at least draw to secure second place in group E on the final day and qualify for Euro 2024.
