The Irish Sam Bennett and the french Victor Lafay have been announced as the riders of the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale, a formation revealed today with the name of a new sponsor that will appear on its jersey in 2024.
Bennett33 years old, winner of 5 stages in the Vuelta, 3 in the Giro d’Italia and 2 in the Tour de France, where he won the green jersey in 2020, He will join the French team from Bora hansgrohe.
In its part, Victor Lafay, 27 years old and winner of the Tour stage that ended this year in San Sebastián, the team changed afterwards of 7 seasons in Cofidis.
The Decathlon joins the World Tour with AG2R La Mondiale, makes the five-year sponsorship a reality and will provide training with Van Rysel bikes, helmets and goggles.
The announcement of the agreement was made at the company’s French facilities near Lille, taking advantage of the event to announce the signings for the next two years of Victor Lafay and Sam Bennett.
