FC Barcelona held the club’s Christmas dinner at the Palau Blaugrana, attended by directors, coaches and players. Joan Laporta led an event which was attended by the president of Barcelona, as well as the coach of the first men’s football team, Xavi Hernández; members of the board of directors; the sports director, Deco; the coaches of all professional sections; their respective technical bodies; as well as players, ‘staff’ members and all club departments.
Laporta asked for unity and support from players and coaches: “Despite the sporting failures that are also part of the world of sport, we will not give up as long as every day we are proud to represent the best club in the world .”
In a Palau decorated for the occasion with decorations and Christmas lights, Laporta asked for unity among the entire team. “We will go out to compete in four competitions; Super Cup, Cup, League and Champions League. I ask you to support, now more than ever, and more these days, our players and our coaches who join them on the path to success “Together we can achieve this.”
After a day rarefied by disappointing results of Antwerp, Laporta extended his support to all sections: “This shared effort also extends to our professional sections: women’s soccer, basketball, handball, hockey and futsal.”
The president of Barcelona therefore spoke to employees, technicians and players, expressed his confidence in the future and demands unity above all else.
