WEC organizers added that Button will drive car number 38 in the Hypercar category and share the wheel of the Porsche 963 with his compatriot Phil Hanson and the Dane Oliver Rasmussen.

“Endurance racing is about teamwork and there is no better team than Hertz Team JOTA to compete with the big Hypercar manufacturers. I am looking forward to the first race in Qatar, but I also know that there is a lot of work to be done. then to. do so we can arrive ready,” said Button, who last competed in the WEC in the 2018/2019 season with the SMP Racing team in the LMP1 competition period.

The 2024 WEC will have a record number of Hypercars with nine different manufacturers: Alpine, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Isotta Fraschini, Lamborghini, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota.

The first test of 2024 will be held in Doha from March 1 to 2.
