Klopp: “7-0 only happens once in a lifetime”

Date:

Liverpool climbed to the top of the Premier League on Saturday and hope to cement it tomorrow in the classic to face Manchester United in crisis at Anfield, sixth in the table, ten points behind the head, and out of European competitions since Wednesday.

Although The last precedent ended in March with a historic 7-0 in favor of Liverpool and United have not won at Anfield for almost eight years, Jürgen Klopp, coach of the ‘reds’, does not trust the historic rival, coming from two consecutive defeats at Old Trafford against Bournemouth (0-3) and Bayern Munich (0-1) and have won just one of their last five games.

“7-0 helps the losing team”

“7-0 is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime result. And if it helps anyone for the next game, it’s the team that lost 7-0 and not the team that won 7-0,” Klopp told reporters.

“If we consider everything, We will only play football against the rival, Liverpool’s historic rival, at home, at Anfield,” Klopp played down the drama. “It has to be a special game and that’s what I want to see from us, a special game. “To really understand the situation and give it my all, that’s all I need.”

Returning to the United and Ten Hag situation

Erik ten Hag asked a lot and in England they thought he would be sacked, but Klopp reckons United are a stronger team when their backs are against the wall.

“I don’t like all the talk about it. The more bad things people say about them, the stronger they appear. It’s always like that,” the Liverpool manager said. “I’ll make sure, from our point of view, that we’ll be 100% focused on the right thing, but we’re human and there’s noise around us. “When I’m even aware of the noise, it means that something is clearly going on.”
