The Indian Murali Sreeshankar ratified his status as the great manifestation of this season’s start in the long jump, by winning this Wednesday at the meeting of Kallithea (Greece) with a mark of 8.31 meters.
Less than five centimeters at 8.36 he signed on April 3 and put the 23-year-old Indian jumper in first place in the world rankings for the year, tied with Olympic champion, the Greek Miltiadis Tentogloo.
The Greek athlete, who planned to participate in the Kallithea meeting, where last year he “flew” up to 8.60 meters, finally did not compete due to “caution” due to minor physical discomfort.
Not to be missed in the appointment was Swedish Thobias Montler, silver medalist in the last world championship at the indoor track in Belgrade, who finished second in the best attempt of 8.27 meters.
Young Frenchman Jules Pommery completed the podium, securing third place with a mark of 8.17 meters.
