The 103rd edition of the Volta Ciclista Catalunya has confirmed 25 teams which will focus the sporting spotlight next March, with seven invited teams: Lotto Dstny, Israel-Premier Tech, Burgos-BH, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, Team Kern Pharma, Euskaltel-Euskadi and Uno-X Pro CyclingTeam.
Being part of the UCI World Tour calendar ensures the participation of the 18 best teams in the world, the UCI WorldTeams, in the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya.
These groups participate on a mandatory basis in all the events that make up the racing calendar, with the highest category of cycling in the world.
To the 18 professional teams we must add the seven UCI ProTeam teams invited by the organization, and which will complete the final participation list for the next edition of the Volta.
An edition that will allow us to enjoy the best of the cycling world between March 18 and 24on a route of 7 stages that starts from the town of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, and ends with the emblematic arrival in Barcelona.
Lotto Dstny tops the list of seven invited teams. The Belgian team, one of the most prestigious within the UCI ProTeam category, has a special connection to the Volta, thanks to its many participations in recent years and to emblematic riders such as the Belgian Thomas de Gendt. It will be joined by Israel-Premier Tech, as both teams have been the best in the second category of world cycling and their participation is assured.
The list of seven UCI Pro Team teams will be completed with the availability of Burgos-BH, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, Kern Pharma Team, Euskaltel-Euskadi and Uno-X Pro Cycling Team. They are all already familiar with the Volta Ciclista Catalunya and repeat their experience, as they took part in the last edition.
In the absence of confirmation of the official route that will make up the seven stages of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya 2024, the organization has already identified the participating teams that will make the Catalan territory the main protagonist in the week of March 18 to 24. A week in which the Volta will be the nerve center of world cycling, with the presence of some of the best cyclists in the world.
