The Dutch Fem Van Empel (Jumbo Visma) prevailed on Antwerp Cyclocross World Cup (Belgium) and with his eleventh official victory this season he leads the podium with his two compatriots, Lucinda Brand and Puck Pieterse, while Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado maintaining the overall lead.
The young Dutch cyclist, 21 years old, escaped the start by imposing a high pedaling rhythm that only held Lucinda Brand (Baloise Trek Lions) and Puck Pieterse (Alpecin-Deceuninck)although a mistake by Brand on the fourth and penultimate lap, on sandy terrain, gave way to victory with an eighteen-second lead at the finish line.
The Dutchwoman also finished fourth, 1:26 behind the winner Ceylin del Carmen Alvaradowho continued to maintain the overall lead with 257, followed by Lucinda Brand with 190 and Manon Bakker with 161.
The Spanish finished very far from the first places in Antwerp. Lucía González Blanco finished in 23rd place, Sofia Rodriguez Revert on the 30th Irene Trabazo at 41.
