The signing of the Norwegian, at the age of 16, was one of the most talked about at the time as half of Europe was fighting for him. Madrid brought him to Castilla, then two years on loan in the Netherlands (Vitesse and Heerenveen) and after a year at Real and another half at Real Madrid, he succeeded at Arsenal.

Perhaps the worst signing on the list since, after paying Cruceiro 15 million, the player barely appeared playing eight League games and one Champions League game. He left Olympique de Marseille on loan and returned to Brazil

And from the worst, to one of the best, without a doubt, is Casemiro, who came from Sao Paulo and went straight to play for Castilla where he rose to become one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe. He left for United two summers ago for 70 million euros.

A midfielder who was convincing in his first games and was vital in the second half of that season. However, his weight was lost over time until Mourinho left the white team and the French with him.

The player with the most titles in Real Madrid’s history arrived in 2006 from Fluminense to replace Roberto Carlos and he was a man. Two summers ago he ended his time in Madrid and now plays for Fluminense where he won the Copa Libertadores.

The Argentine striker arrived in Madrid with no sign of the other great South American ‘9’ but, over time, he established himself as one of the great scorers of the white team in the seven seasons in which he was in capital.

It came from the hand of Higuaín although he came from Boca Juniors and although he showed great quality of play from the center of the field, injuries did not allow him to make a career at Real Madrid. He also played for Valencia and Roma
