Jorge Prado He is now a pilot of AMA supercross. Last night the Galician fulfilled one of his sporting dreams since he competed on two wheels, making his debut in the emblematic American supercross championship. Jorge He took this test simply as a learning process, avoiding guesswork and being acutely aware of the enormous difficulty the challenge represented. The supercross discipline is not practiced much in Europe and requires specific training which Prado has only been able to do for a few weeks. However, the world champion of MXGP 2023 He didn’t look out of place in his debut and was competing against all the great champions of the previous seasons.
Within that study, Jorge first had to fight to adapt to the track and he did it with a very good grade, because In qualifying practice he achieved a more than acceptable 9th position. The next complication faced his first outing next to the American specialists. As usual, he was quite quick when the fence fell, but he still had to adapt to the indecision of his rivals on a narrow course.
In his qualifying heat Jorge finished eighth and in the final he spent most of the heat in the Top 10 although in the end he fell to 13th position. The test is won by Australian Jett Lawrence in front of Anderson and Sexton.

For the man from Lugo, this first date ended positively as he gained experience without suffering any accidents or falls and enjoyed this great show in America: “It’s an incredible experience, no matter how much you imagine it and see it, until you live it you don’t know how exciting and at the same time the complexity of this sport. I’m happy with all the work done this week and the accumulated learning in this first test”.
“Obviously my room for improvement is great and we will continue to work hard to improve in the next tests”he added.
