Tenerife won the derby and became the only Runner-up in the round of 16

This Sunday, Tenerife became the only Second Division team still alive in the Copa del Rey, after defeating UD Las Palmas in the island derby.

The locals held on for victory in a fine first half, with goals from José Amo and Luismi Cruz, and after the break the rivalry heated up and ended in an ejection for each side.

José Amo soon opened the way to victory for Tenerife with his early goal in the 4th minute after a great assist from Luismi Cruz.
