“I won’t comment on the court decision itself, but I can repeat that our promise in the European model of sport is unbreakable and unconditional. Of course there is a commercial element in sport and football, but The European model is about (including) everything, integration, justice and amateur sports,” Schinas said at a press conference.

The Greek commissioner, whose responsibilities include “promoting the European lifestyle”, considers that football is “an element of how we are citizens of the EU” and is grateful to be “not alone” in his Super League oppositionagainst which the state EU members, the Parliament of Europe or various federations and associations of this sport.
