La Marmolada, last against the high mountains, to dictate judgment

The last appointment came to the high mountain at Italy is spinning one day before the time trial in Verona. The eleventh dolomite stage, between Belluno and the summit of The Marble (Passo Fedaia)which is 167 km and 4,490 meters of inequality, will logically determine the winner of this edition.

The last high ‘stages’ of the mountain will have the beautiful peaks of the Dolomites as its setting, which will adorn a day where there will be little space and little reason to hide. The battle for the pink jersey and the rest of the podium should be put out at this stage.

The Belluno stage will start, in Veneto, towards a small non-scoring elevation that will serve as a warmer of the engines, only 3 km at 7 per cent. Then, the ascending profile of 50 km will lead to the first of the three difficulties of the day, the San Pellegrino Pass (1a, 9.6 km at 8 percent average gradient). An appetizer whose top is nearly 2,000 meters high.

After a descent of 11 km, there will be a 17 km slight ascent that will place the peloton at the foot of the Passo Pordoiof the special category, with 11.9 km to 6.6, of which Coppi Summit at 2,236 meters.

Another long descent, 32 km marked with a steep slope, ends at the foot of La Marmolada (Passo Fedaia), a first-class pass leading to the finish line, located at the top after climbing 12.6 km to 7.8 with sections 12 Here will decide who is the winner of the 2022 Giro.

The start of the stage is scheduled for 12:15 pm and the scheduled arrival at 4:55 pm
