The former Valencia midfielder Ever Banega (35) terminated the contract with Al-Shabaab and, after four years in Saudi football, he decided to return to his country, Argentina, and to the club of his loved ones, Newell’s Old Boys. The Rosario club itself announced this. Another footballer joined, then, the list of those who missed out they left.
Banega, who trained at Boca Juniors and is a former Argentine international, returns to a team he spent six months with ten years ago. The player also played for Atlético de Madrid and Sevilla. “I am very happy to be able to wear this shirt again. I really want to go back and the procedures are quite long,” he stated. “I’m coming in at a different age, more mature and with more experience. I’m going to be looked after by a lot of young people. We’re going to help each other take Newell where it needs to be.”
