A Spanish professional driver speaks loud and clear about the Madrid circuit: “I don’t say what I think because they take me to prison”

Date:

The return of Formula 1 to the community of Madrid has divided motorsport fans and professionals. Some are waiting to be seen Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz run through the streets of the Spanish capital, but there are others who are not convinced by the fact that it is a urban circuit.

One of the most critical is the winner of the Macau Grand Prix, several Formula 3 championships and Force India test driver in 2014, Dani Juncadellaalready adamantly denying the proposal of the circuit of Madrid.

Juncadella doesn’t like the circuit because of this “no choice to advance”for a route considering this “too dangerous” and for continuing the “pianos/walls philosophy” that some circuits like Miami, Las Vegas or Sochi. “Fortunately this is not the last circuit,” commented the driver.

He also said he doesn’t care if the Spanish GP moves from Barcelona to Madrid: “Colau has been scaring tourists for years.”

Dani Juncadella became one of the first Spanish drivers not to fully support the Madrid Grand Prix project. The driver is not convinced of this trend of making a very fast urban circuit because They endanger the safety of participants. “What I am saying is that the possibility of a happy race is not excluded. We will see it in the finished circuit…”, Juncadella reasoned.
