The racket where Rafael Nadal he beat the swiss Roger Federer in the final of Roland Garros 2007 received this Monday a final winning bid of 118,206 dollars, approximately 109,000 euros at the exchange rate, at the close of an auction.

According to industry data, this is the third racket to reach a higher price at auction after the 129,000 euros of his other racket from Australian Open’2022 and the 115,000 euros of the racket used by the American Billie Jean King famously ‘Battle of the sexes’ of 1973 against Bobby Riggs.

Nadal, 37, is planning his return to ATP on the hard court of Doha (February 19-24) after leaving the Australian Open due to a micro-tear of the psoas muscle, but elsewhere than the injury and surgery that forced him to sit out most of last season.
