This is how the Premier League standings remain after the victories of Manchester City and Liverpool

There is no respite in what looks like it will be one of the most competitive Premier Leagues in years as things go.

The reigning champions Manchester City are not ready to give up their crown and have already proved it. They had pressure to play after Arsenal, who beat Nottingham Forest on Tuesday and went three points ahead, but Pep Guardiola’s team was merciless against Burnley (3-1) and also finished with 46 points and a match to be played.

However, that did not help him close the gap at the leader of the classification. There is Liverpool with 51 points after beating Chelsea very strongly (4-1), without being affected for the moment by Jürgen Klopp’s announcement that he will leave the team at the end of the season.

The one that has followed in the footsteps of them all is Tottenham, who in their close victory over Sheffield United (3-2) have 43 points.
