Pocket controls have been carried out for schools in France since February. This is intended to prevent students from bringing knives to the educational institutions. Now only control organs have been attacked with a knife on an eastern French school.
“A terrible drama took place this morning in a high school in Nogent: an educational assistant was the victim of a knife attack by a student of the facility,” said the French Minister of Education Élisabeth Borne. The 31-year-old assistant did not survive the attack. A police officer who helped with the pocket control was also injured. According to media reports, the attacker would be a 14 -year -old student who has not appeared in the police so far (see photo below).
Macron: “Meaningless outbreak of violence”
France reacted shaken to fatal violence: “As she woke up in Nietent about our children, a parenting assistant lost her life as a victim of a meaningless outbreak of violence,” said President Emmanuel Macron.
As the Ministry of the Interior announced in Paris, 186 knives were seized between the end of March and the end of May at around 6,000 pocket checks. 32 students were taken into account.
