Emergency Surgery – Miniature Schnauzer “Barri” mauled by attack dog

Date:

Friedrich Rattesseder from Linz is happy that he still has his Miniature Schnauzer “Barri”. On Monday, the four-legged friend was attacked out of nowhere in the Andreas-Hofer-Park in Linz by an American Stafford and almost bitten to death. Emergency surgery at the veterinary clinic in Sattledt saved the life of the four-year-old animal.

“The dog just ran towards us and immediately bit Barri’ in the stomach and jerked him around. I still hear my dog’s screams in my head”, Friedrich Rattetseder is not yet over the brutal attack in Andreas-Hofer -Park in Linz. For a long minute, the American Stafford would have nearly mauled the little Miniature Schnauzer.

Dog was on a leash
The list dog was on a leash just like “Barri” but that didn’t help. “The young lad, who is clearly the owner of the dog, just couldn’t hold the animal,” said the shocked pet owner, who couldn’t take any personal information from the other dog owner: “I was afraid of my dog, I I immediately started working on the car,” says Rattetseder. First to the small veterinary practice in Keferfeld, then to the veterinary clinic in Sattledt. There “Barri” was rescued with an emergency operation.

“Only” material damage
He was sutured three times to the abdominal wall and 30 centimeters of destroyed intestines were removed. The poor dog has been with his owner since Friday afternoon. What annoys Rattetseder is that the attack is legally a form of property damage that the police are not doing anything about.
